What's a girl got to do...

What's a girl got to do to be admitted to the hospital these days?!?! I went to my weekly dr. appointment today at almost 38 weeks and let's just say I am progressing VERY nicely!! At the point I am at in my "progress" some women would already be admitted and have an epidural!!! (Sorry I am not releasing my "progress" status - I didn't know if that was appropriate to do on the internet :-)

So I was sent home - hopefully the baby won't fall out!! My biggest fear is not making it in time for the wonderful epidural! I am about an hour from the hospital...and Charlie is still working in Dallas. Maybe my next post will be of the baby! One can only hope!!!

Which is better?? You decide!!

Miller's hair was in desperate need of a haircut. It was cute but WAY too long so I decided to go get it cut. Here is a before and after. I can't decide which is better!! :) The lady cut it a bit too short for my liking but at least he won't have bedhead anymore!! :)

Before: After a nap - check out my bedhead!!

After: A little too short but doesn't he look like a BIG BOY!!!

Hurry Up October!!!

The face says it all!! I am SO READY for October to be here. I never thought I would post a picture of my prego belly but this was priceless (and my mom talked me into it!!) I am so tired of being pregnant. I am hot and miserable, especially in the Houston humidity. I don't remember being this miserable with Miller. I guess it has to do with being 35 weeks pregnant and chasing after an almost 2 year old. My official due date is still about 5 weeks off but maybe baby boy will be early. One can only hope!! So enjoy this picture in my misery!! On a more positive note--we are so blessed and excited to meet our little guy. (I just don't know how much more my belly can actually stretch!!)

Quick Pregnancy Update

I had another ultrasound done last Monday to check for placenta previa. Luckily, I don't have it!! The doctor said everything looks good. She said at 32 weeks and 3 days the baby is already weighing 4 lbs 8 oz. She said that he is in the 59 percentile and is right on track but he sounds REALLY BIG to me with about 7 weeks to go!! What is it with me and big babies!! :) Our due date it still October 16th but Miller was early so we will have to wait and see! If I can figure out my mom's scanner I will try to post a picture from the ultrasound!

If you are wondering why I am still calling him Baby rather than by his name it is because we still have not picked one yet!! We have 2 names we are trying to decide between. We have decided after all the opinions we have received from people/family we are going to keep the name a secret until he actually gets here! So it will be a surprise!!

Random Pictures

As many of you know, we sold our house in McKinney and have moved temporarily to Sweeny. I grew up in Sweeny and my parents live here. Charlie is still working in Dallas but will be getting a transfer to the Houston office with his company sometime in September. For the time, I am staying at my Grandma's old house and Charlie is still in McKinney. I never thought I would say this, but I am enjoying small town life. I especially love being only 5 minutes away from my parents. However, I don't love being 30 minutes from a Walmart, Target or Mall!! Eventually we will end up in Houston, but for now we are embracing small town!! :) Here are a few pictures I've taken since being in Sweeny.

Getting ready to go to church with Daddy. I know you can't see it but just imagine orange shag carpet, orange laminate floors and counter tops, and yellowish-green appliances!! That's how old my Nanny's house is, but it is nice to have a place to stay and store our furniture :)!!!

No Gestational Diabetes!!

I had my 3 hour glucose test done on Monday. I made it through the super sweet drink and the 4 blood draws without feeling faint or getting sick!! (Did I mention that I am such a wuss!!) The nurse called me today with the results. The doctor said I just barely passed. The good news is I don't have gestational diabetes. But because I just barely passed I have to watch my carb and sugar intake for the remainder of the pregnancy!! Yippee!! The funny thing is I don't eat a lot of carbs or sugar. Weird!! Just wanted to update everyone.

Pregnancy Stuff

So I went to the doctor for my 28 week check this past Monday. I started the appointment off with the yucky orange drink to check my glucose levels. Then I had to wait an hour and have blood drawn. While I was waiting the doctor informed me that she noticed I have strep B so now I am going to have to have antibiotics in my IV on the day of delivery. She also noted that at my last ultrasound I have a low-lying placenta. So I will have to have another ultrasound in a few weeks to HOPEFULLY rule out placenta previa. And lastly I got a call on Wednesday saying that I FAILED my glucose test and now have to come back and do the 3 hour test. I know this isn't that big of a deal except I HATE with a capital H getting blood work done and now I have to get it drawn 4 times in one day!!! YIKES. Oh well I guess this is all part of being pregnant!! :)

By the way if this is too much information for my fellow bloggers out there I am sorry. Most of the people that read my blog are a.) family, b.) friends or c.) fellow mommies or mommies-to-be!! So if you are grossed out by the word blood, placenta, or any other baby term please skip this post!! :)

More Swimming!!

More swimming at Mimi and Pawpaw's house!!

Miller and I went to Sweeny to visit my parents for a week. We had a blast hanging out with Gigi, Papa, Uncle Marsh and the Sweeny Crew!! Miller especially enjoyed the swimming, bubbles and popsicles. Then Gigi came back to McKinney with us for another week.

Yummy Popsicles!!
