Walt Disney World 2011

***Warning - There are A LOT of pictures in this post!!*** At the end I am going to post some helpful tips in case anyone out there is planning a Disney Trip in the next few years!

We had a great time at Walt Disney World in Orlando. Here are about a million pictures from our trip. Please excuse the order and formatting - Blogger has been giving me trouble the entire time I was uploading the pictures!!

On the plane to Orlando. The boys did great!!

We arrived in Orlando late afternoon on Wednesday so we headed over to Epcot for a few rides, dinner at Nine Dragon in China and the fireworks! It was a long day but the boys were troopers!
On Thursday we spent most of the day at Magic Kingdom and finished the day at Epcot eating dinner at The Coral Reef Restaurant - DELICIOUS!! One tip I would advise is to get one of the Disney meal plans and get the Hopper pass added to your ticket that way you can hop from park to park in one day!!
It's a small world after all...

On Thursday night we used our hopper pass and "hopped" over to Epcot for dinner at The Coral Reef. This restaurant was really neat. It had a floor to ceiling aquarium and all the tables faced the aquarium so you could watch the fish while you dined! The food was great and it was not all seafood so there was something for everyone. Like I said before the dining plan came in handy as all we had to pay for at the end of the meal was our gratuity. An entree, drink and dessert were included in the dining plan!! So convenient! It was like paying for all your meals before you left on vacation!
We stayed at Disney Pop Century Resort. I would recommend staying at a Disney hotel. It offers a lot of perks such as bus shuttle service to and from all the parks and you can utilize the exteneded hours to the parks if you stay at a Disney resort. Plus they have all different kinds of resorts to meet you budget needs. We've always stayed at one of Disney's Value Resorts which are the least expensive option but they have value, moderate and deluxe resorts as well as campgrounds so there is a hotel for every budget!
We spent most of Friday at Animal Kingdom. I love Animal Kingdom. My favorite thing to do there is watch the Lion King Show. It is almost as good as the Broadway version! The day was mostly good except for the occasional rain! We ended the day at Downtown Disney eating dinner at Captain Jack's. It was ok but not the greatest so I would not recommend going to eat there.
Those Mickey ice creams are MESSY!
The Lion King Show
And then the RAIN came!! We spent Saturday in our rain gear at Hollywood Studios. It was a miserable day because it rained ALL day long. I think Florida got record rain that day! But we braved the rain and ended the day at Magic Kingdom where we ate at The Crystal Palace and had dinner with Winnie the Pooh and friends. Once again our hopper pass came in handy!
The boys loved this! It was Disney Junior Live. It included Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Handy Manny, Little Einsteins, and Jake and the Neverland Pirates. It was very interactive for the little ones!

After braving the rain all day we headed to Magic Kingdom for dinner. I tried to get in at Chef Mickey to have dinner with all the Mickey characters but it was booked and I made our reservations 3 months in advanced. So we ate at Crystal Palace and had dinner with Winnie the Pooh and friends. The boys loved it and all the characters stopped by our table for photo ops! My advice is to book all your sit down dinners as soon as you decide to go to Disney because they fill up FAST!! I highly recommend this restaurant. It was so fun for the kids and it was an all-you-can-eat buffet - which is covered by your dining plan.
Our final day at Disney we went back to Magic Kingdom to finish the rides we did not get to do from the time before. (If you have small children plan on spending 2 days at Magic Kingdom - lots for them to do plus they are expanding it for 2012). It only rained off and on on Sunday so it was a much better day! To end the day we "hopped" over to Epcot for Dinner at Teppan Edo in Japan. It is delicious! The chef cooks dinner at your table. Miller was more facinated with the chopsticks than the food but we had a blast on our last day in Disney!!
We had fun but BOY are we tired!!

*****Here are a few tips that were helpful to us for our trip and I thought I'd share*****

1. Look into the Disney dining plans. They offer several different plans for all budgets. Basically it's like paying for your meals before you go on vacation. Most meals include a non-alcoholic beverage, entree and dessert. So all you have to pay for is the tip if you go to a sit down restaurant.

2. Once you book your vacation go ahead and plan your sit down dinners or character dinners and make reservations as they fill up very quickly. I made our dinner reservations 3 months in advance and we still were not able to get into a few restaurants we wanted.

3. Add the park Hopper pass to your general admission ticket. It does cost extra but you have the ability to go to multiple parks in one day.
